Dieting for a healthier life

hamburger-junk-foodWe all have heard that if we eat everything of the plate we will ‘raise good’, healthy, strong, tall etc. But this is a terrible mistake if we talk about unhealthy food, such as snacks, junk food, fast food. If we eat a little more than usual, we tend to say that we’ll keep a diet for a few days, so we’ll not put on weight. There is nothing more mistaken. If the body gets used to something like this, the only thing we will ‘solve’ is to be unhealthy, because after a couple of this kind of ‘diet’ our body will not respond at any.

Nowadays, the term of fast food does not need any introduction. In this time, when people are busy trying to earn money and time goes by so fast, fast food seems to be a great alternative for a dinner in town. We could think that this type of food is a blessing, but we should be aware of all the disadvantages it has. Fast food products are not nutritional balanced, so they are really unhealthy on long term, if regularly consumed. Fast food products are overcharged with calories that come from refined sugars and fat.

Even if we eat a lot of fast food, we will have the impression that we are not ‘full’, and we tend to eat more and more. The situation is even worse in towns, because there the population is less active.

Regarding snacks, we all tend to sit in front of TV and have a snack. We have to realize that instead of them, we could eat a fruit, which is a lot healthier than snacks. It is true that if we go in a supermarket for instance the first look is to where are the snacks and not fruits, so we actually choose them. But we should think first about our health and not spending so much money on snacks, because in many cases, fruits are cheaper and we can not compare them with snacks. It is also true that a person who is ‘addicted’ to snacks can get over it if she reduces the amount of snacks consumed each day, because the body will get used to the newer, healthier diet.
